Sometimes things happen and you are just shocked with the results.
My husband and I lead a ministry team where we serve the homeless, veterans and those barely getting by.
Today, I received a phone call from someone we serve. And to be honest, I was hesitant to answer it. Thoughts like “it’s your day off,” and “it’s nothing important” ran through my head.
But something inside said “just answer.” So I did.
It wasn’t a request for money. It wasn’t a request for food or even items to live off of. No. It was a request for prayer.
Our team has supported this person in such a way that they called us, in an emergency situation, for prayer. From the love we have shown them, they knew they could count on us making a petition to the Heavenly Father on their behalf.
And at the end of the call, this person said, ” I love you guys.”
That there. That’s exactly why we serve. That’s why we make an effort to reach those who are hurting. Those who are suffering from addiction. Those who are lost.
To show them the love of Christ.
I’m thankful for the spirits prompting me today to just answer that phone.
